Nestled in the heart of the lush landscapes of our village, Palm Era was born from a vision shared by Kannan and Abinaya, a couple deeply rooted in the Palm Climber community.
With backgrounds in engineering and a profound respect for our heritage, we embarked on a mission to preserve the endangered legacy of the Palmyra palm, a tree that has sustained generations through its bounty.
The Spark of Change
Our journey began with an unexpected opportunity: to save the palm trees in our village that were being felled due to crop destruction by wild boars. We negotiated with landowners to sustainably harvest the palms, ensuring that not a single fruit was wasted.
This experience opened our eyes to the myriad challenges facing traditional palm climbing, including the lack of standardization, low wages, and the decline in the use of palm-based products due to modern agricultural practices and market demands.
Crafting a Sustainable Future
Motivated to make a difference, we launched Palm Era with a dual mission: to elevate palm-based products to premium quality through innovation, standardization, and effective branding; and to reintroduce nutrient-rich, low glycemic palm products into daily diets, especially for children.
We were determined to ensure that these alternatives reached every table, promoting wellness and sustainability.
From Nature to Your Kitchen
At Palm Era, each product begins with the 'Padhaneer', a refreshing nectar harvested by skilled toddy tappers. To create our celebrated palm jaggery powder, 10 liters of this nectar are carefully processed into just 1 kg of powdered palm jaggery, ensuring each spoonful is rich in nutrients
